What's up with INPIRG
I hope you had a great weekend! Our campaigns have been working hard this semester to achieve their goals, and they have some exciting events coming up in the next few weeks.
Hunger and Homelessness:
Nightmare on 10th Street Fun Run on October 22 - We will be hosting a mile-long Fun Run during which people can run in their Halloween costumes! The admission will be a warm clothing item or a canned good. There will be prizes for the top three finishers as well as for the best costume! We need participants to run and volunteers to collect donations and man posts around our route. So sign up to volunteer or come by and join us on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 pm!
We also have lots of things coming up for our other campaigns: Agricultural Subsidies, Student Consumer Action Network, and Sustainable U. We hope you will get involved and help us work on tackling these important issues!
Exciting stuff! Also, just as a heads-up, our fall pledge drive is going to be the week of October 24th. Here's a quick low-down on what the pledge drive is and why we do it:
INPIRG is a student-run, student-funded organization. In order to stay on campus and continue to work for you as well as for the public interest, we have to have support from 10% of the student body in the form of a $10 pledge to one's bursar account every semester. If we don't have this support, we won't be able to work for you to solve today's biggest problems! You will see members of INPIRG all around campus collecting pledges the week of October 24th-28th, so please stop and support INPIRG by pledging!
I hope you have a great week, and I look forward to seeing you at one (or all) of our exciting events! And most importantly, remember to PLEDGE INPIRG!
